New GC President Erton C. Köhler
to Preach Sabbath Worship at
2025 ASI Convention
ASI is delighted to announce that Erton C. Köhler, recently elected president of the General Conference, will join the 2025 ASI Convention in Orlando as the Sabbath Worship speaker on August 2. His sermon, “A Call for Urgency,” will center on Revelation 22:20’s expectant prayer, “Even so, come, Lord Jesus,” inviting members to renewed commitment and mission focus.
Köhler, a Brazilian native and son of a pastor, has served the Adventist Church in nearly every level of administration. After beginning as a district pastor in São Paulo, he became Youth Ministries director in local, union, and division fields before being elected president of the South American Division in 2007, an office he held for 15 years. In 2021, he accepted the call to serve as Executive Secretary of the General Conference, and on July 4, 2025, delegates to the 62nd GC Session elected him as the church’s 21st world president. Köhler holds degrees in theology and pastoral ministry, an honorary doctorate from Peruvian Union University, and is completing a Doctor of Ministry at Andrews University. He and his wife, Adriene, have two adult children.
“ASI exists to mobilize everyday Adventists to partner with the church in finishing the work,” said ASI President Andi Hunsaker. “Elder Köhler’s decision to join us in Orlando affirms that laypeople are indispensable to the mission. I’m thrilled for the collaboration his visit represents and confident it will ignite fresh conviction and creativity across our membership.”
With more than 2,500 attendees expected, the 2025 ASI Convention will gather Adventist laypeople, business leaders, ministry innovators, and missionaries under the theme “Investing in Eternity.” Köhler’s Sabbath message will cap several days of seminars, testimonies, and mission showcases designed to equip members to share Jesus in their industries and communities.
Registration is open at ASIMinistries.org/Convention, and the session will also be streamed live at ASI’s YouTube channel: YouTube.com/ASIMinistries. We hope that you will join us in Orlando as we welcome Elder Köhler and recommit to spreading the everlasting gospel—because the promise remains, “Surely I am coming quickly.”
