New Member Spotlight: Pastor David González and 3IBN

For Pastor David González, communication and evangelism have always gone hand in hand. After more than two decades serving as the general coordinator of the Spanish-language program Your Story Hour (Tu Historia Preferida) in Berrien Springs, Michigan, González retired in 2003. But retirement didn’t slow his passion for sharing the gospel.

That same year, a small group of friends and retired pastors from the North American Division began dreaming together about how to reach the Spanish-speaking world with the message of Christ. Their vision was to expand beyond children’s programming and create a broader platform for evangelism. While early efforts faced financial and legal challenges, the group remained committed—even sacrificing personally to invest in equipment.

A breakthrough came when Pastor Manuel Núñez suggested turning to the growing power of social media. Soon after, God opened doors to connect with Pastor Jorge Rojas Velázquez, a professional broadcaster and engineer in Ecuador, and his wife, Dr. Ivonne Lazo. Together, they established Red 3IBN, the communications branch of 3 International Development Mission Inc. (3IDM), headquartered in Orlando, Florida, with its central studio hub in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Today, Red 3IBN is a missionary channel dedicated to supporting the Adventist Church through digital evangelism. The network broadcasts programs for radio and television, produces Bible lessons and small group resources, and provides training seminars in journalism and broadcasting for laypeople and affiliates around the world.

Among its offerings are:

  • Children’s Bible Lessons – “Jesus, the Friend of Children,” with colorful materials, video classes, and digital exams.
  • Small Group Resources – Digital guides for both adults and children, adaptable for pre- and post-baptismal settings.
  • Training Programs – Four-level journalism courses, including collaboration with the University of Montemorelos in Mexico; and broadcasting seminars to equip new stations.
  • Amigos Radio Club – Lessons and activities designed for children’s spiritual and social development, including a structured baptismal manual for ages 7–12.

The network also partners with affiliate stations in multiple countries, among them Ecuador, Argentina, Nicaragua, Cuba, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, and the United States, reaching thousands with the hope of Jesus. With more than 29 websites and sister stations worldwide, 3IBN continues to expand its digital presence.

González and the 3IBN team are eager to collaborate with ASI members in advancing the gospel through media and digital tools. “We seek to share the fruits of our years of hard work with ASI members, churches, pastors, and laypeople,” says González, “providing access to the latest technologies that help bring souls to the knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ.”

For González, the mission remains clear: to hasten the soon return of Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, through every means possible.
