E.A. Sutherland Education Association Seeks to Serve a Broader Audience (edit, back)
02/28/2014
The E.A. Sutherland Education Association (EASEA) relied on ASI project funds to address budget and personnel transition costs while maintaining accreditation services to its ten member schools. It sponsored a Bible conference and music festival, provided professional development workshops for teachers and deans, and sponsored a mission trip to the Dominican Republic.
The association also explored ways to provide services to a broader audience. It plans to use remaining project funds to obtain membership in the nationally recognized National Council for Private Schools Accreditation. This would allow EASEA to provide accreditation services to schools outside of Tennessee.
EASEA’s mission is to promote and improve educational and vocational programs that demonstrate a Christ-centered educational philosophy based on the Scriptures and on the writings of Ellen G. White. The association was developed to assist independently operated self-supporting schools of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in school improvement, teacher certification, accreditation, curriculum, vocational training, staff development, and resource development. It provides a structure for administrators, educational staff, students, and supporters to network, share resources, and find support in preserving Seventh-day Adventist beliefs, values, and practices through education.
The E.A. Sutherland Education Association was a 2012 ASI Project Fund recipient.
