2024 Project Update – Loma Linda Campestre

Loma Linda Campestre, an Adventist center in Colombia focused on healthy living and community support, has made substantial progress on a project aimed at improving water access through solar power and water storage infrastructure. Supported by ASI funding, this initiative will bring reliable water access to the surrounding community and nearby churches, promoting both physical well-being and environmental sustainability.

The most valuable resource on Loma Linda Campestre’s property is its natural spring water, which the team is working to distribute to local families and churches that lack pure drinking water. Since 2019, Loma Linda Campestre has provided this essential resource to the Adventist church in Chiquinquirá, Boyacá, as well as to its local church in Puente Nacional, Santander, and to five additional Adventist families in Chiquinquirá.

Efforts began in August 2024, with workers leveling steep terrain to create space for a 13,000-liter water tank and digging a 500-meter trench to lay the hose that will connect it to an existing 15,000-liter water tower. Despite the logistical challenges posed by the narrow, steep access paths, Loma Linda Campestre’s team has continued the work undeterred. The goal is to ensure fresh spring water is available year-round for the center’s lifestyle program and agricultural needs.

Scheduled for November 2024, the next phase will involve the installation of 16 solar panels and a pressure pump. The setup is intended to power the water system sustainably, minimizing reliance on external resources. To prepare for this installation, the team has completed leveling at the highest point on the property and built 28 concrete pillars to support the solar infrastructure.

With the project approaching the final stages, local families and church members anticipate the impact that accessible, clean water will bring to the community.
