Bringing the Gospel into Focus:
3ABN Enhances Outreach with 4K Upgrades Thanks to ASI and Donors
Every year, ASI empowers ministries through dozens of projects funded by the generous donations of our members. In 2023, 3ABN was one of the recipients of a project grant to upgrade their camera lenses and remote gear. ASI is pleased to support ministries like 3ABN, whose longstanding commitment to broadcasting the Three Angels’ Messages has reached millions worldwide since 1984.
Jill Morikone, 3ABN Vice President and COO, shared insights into how the purchase of new equipment is already elevating their broadcast quality and enhancing their ministry outreach. The upgrades focused on acquiring two long-range 4K camera lenses and modernizing remote production gear. “These are long-range lenses, different than the lenses you would use in a normal studio,” Morikone noted. “Our usual studios have the cameras close to the set, but for events like our camp meetings or when the cameras are far from the stage—such as at the ASI Convention or the AMEN Conference—we really need that long-range capability.” The long-range lenses were purchased in 2024 and first used during the 2024 ASI convention. Morikone explained that the previous lenses had developed “soft spots,” leading to focus issues during zooms and shots of distant subjects. With the new 4K lenses, the difference is clear—a sharp, visually appealing image that looks modern and inviting to the viewer.
“We’re presenting the gospel message, but it’s packed in video and audio presentations,” Morkone explained. “When people flip through channels on Dish Network, Roku, or Amazon Fire, you don’t want them to see something that looks fuzzy. A sharp picture with modern aesthetics really draws people in.” She emphasized that prioritizing lens quality underscores 3ABN’s commitment to ensuring that every broadcast is visually engaging as well as spiritually uplifting.
Morikone also highlighted the practical aspects of the remote production upgrades. Unlike the full truck setups used for larger events, the new remote gear is compact enough to fit in a van, making it ideal for on-the-road productions where efficiency and flexibility are crucial. We use the remote gear for on-the-road events, such as the AMEN Conference,” she shared.
Beyond the technical improvements, Morikone expressed gratitude for the long-standing partnership with ASI. “We’ve been so blessed to broadcast the convention every year and to bring that into people’s homes around the world,” she said. “We even feature ASI ministries on our programming—it’s all about sharing the undiluted Three Angels’ Messages and connecting with like-minded ministries and individuals.”
