Riverside Farm Institute was founded in the 1970s and has operated for many years as a lifestyle center, school, medical clinic, and working farm. Riverside has provided care to some of Zambia’s most influential leaders. Jabel Busl, executive director says, “Through the generosity of ASI we have been able to start work on two urgently needed projects. One is the construction of new staff housing and the second is the fencing of previously unsecured land.”
Riverside has 3,000 acres of beautiful land located on the banks of the Kafue River on which the team runs our various outreach and agricultural programs.
The region around Riverside is going through a period of economical growth, which is increasing the value of land and putting increased pressure on any unsecured land in the area. A large portion of our land has never been fenced. With the initial funds received from ASI along with additional funds from donors and from local profits they have have started the process of fencing over 12 miles of property line. To date 4 miles of fencing has been installed and work is ongoing to secure the entire property.
